Google Adwords Policy Change

this is quite important. if you use Adowrds to deliver trafifc to your affiliate programs please note the folloing from Google:

With this new affiliate policy, we will only display one ad per search query for affiliates and parent companies sharing the same URL. This way, users will have a more diverse sampling of advertisements to choose from. As always, your ad will be displayed based on its Ad Rank for given searches.

For instance, if a user searches for books on Google.co.uk or anywhere on the Google search and content networks, Google will take an inventory of ads running for the keyword books. If we find that two or more ads compete under the same URL, we will display the ad with the highest Ad Rank.

How this will affect you:

If you are an affiliate, this means that you no longer need to identify yourself as an affiliate in your ad text. However, your current ad text will continue to display your affiliate status until you change it.

Affiliates or advertisers using unique URLs in their ads will not be affected by this change. Please note that your Display URL must match the URL of your landing page, and you may not simply frame another site.

What you should do:

We recommend that you continue to monitor your ads' performance and optimise your ads as needed to ensure that they are bringing you the best results. Please visit our Optimisation Tips page for more information.

Hope this Helps!

Google Algo Changes

One thing I am currently doing is trying to figure out this google algo change. Yesterday I pointed you to a dup content filter forum on Webmasterworld.

This could have been a knee jerk reaction on my behalf. I received a link to this today from Brad Fallon and it makes more sense:

To get a lot more sense from Brad why not invest in his Course Stomping the Search Engines. It is well worth it!

Good Luck!

Yahoo! It's Christmas

Major update at Yahoo has seen sites appear on page one for the first time in a long time!

Heres the lowdown:

Good Luck!

Google Changes

Not sure if you have, but we have noticed a change in the way Google is ranking sites. We have dropped from first page to no page on some of our sites.

There are two main theries. One Google is penalizing non relevant inbound links? Can;t see how that would work.

Two, Google is applying a duplicate content filter. Check this post at WebmasterWorld:

http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum3/27104.htm

It is long but page 40 odd I think talks about "&filter=0" which is what shows the difference in the rankings.

Check it out.

Goodd Luck!

Stomping the Search Engines

One of the other things I have been doing over the last month is listening and implementing strategies to improve my search enigne rankins to get more traffic and hopefully more sales.

The techniques I am using are from a pack of CDs called "Stomping the Search Engines" by Brad Fallon and Andy Jenkins

This system was created by 2 people who USE the system every day and have created an income that will reach into 7 figures in 2004.

Andy Jenkins, co-author of Online Store Profits has been making a comfortable living online since September 2000. His eBook is a best seller, and has been responsible for creating more successful eCommerce Store Owners than any other Home Based Business System per unit sold.

He own several successful eStores, and in total, over 40 income producing web site.

Brad Fallon, CEO of SEO Research used Andy's Online Store Profits to create an eStore that's already generated nearly half a million dollars in sales in the first 6 months of 2004. What's even more astonishing is that his store has only been open since January 4th, 2004.

SEO Research is a "Think Tank" of Search Engine Professionals that serve Fortune 1,000 companies.

In fact, their empirical style of Search Engine Optimization is so effective that one of their largest clients is a publicly held company with over $500 million dollars in annual revenue. You don't get to be the Search Engine Optimizer for a Half-a-Billion Dollar company because you "Think" you know about Search Engines...

Well, the proof is in the performance, and these 2 Guru's actually use examples from real, profitable web sites with TOP Search Engine Rankings.

Check this out right now: Stomping the Search Engines

You'll even get a free 50 minute interview with Brad to Listen to free of charge

Search Engine Optimisation Tips

If you are sick and tired of trying to get a number one listing on Google or Yahoo or MSN, you've read everything you can.

Maybe you should try something different. As I am typing this I am listening to Brad Fallon. Brad runs SEO Radio which can be found over at www.seoradio.com.

Brad interviews lots of people in the industry and you can listen in either live or download the archive pages

Check it out www.seoradio.com

Is Google still "King of the Hill"?

It appears we still all chase the #1 listing or first page listing in Google to the exclusion of everything else!

However, a new study has shonw this may not the case.

Recent studies show Google user loyalty is beginning to fade as the gap on search engine competition closes. According to Forrester analyst Charlene Li, more and more Google users are setting their browser homepages to Yahoo and MSN. In a separate study, Kirk Bannerman of http://www.business-at-home.us noted that the most popular engines over a 90-day period were:

Google: 33%
Yahoo: 31%
MSN: 23%
All others: 13%

Maybe its time to look at the Yahoo and the new MSN. It appears that you could be missing out on traffic.

It's been a while

I've been snowed under with managing change to the new FSA regulations for Loans, Mortgages and Insurance. This has meant lots of changes to my websites and affiliate programs

I'm back on track now and I have kept alot of stuff which I will be uploading today.
